How do I know if my child is eligible
for transportation? |

Legally
reside two
or more miles from his/her
assigned campus of regular attendance (home campus)
or legally reside in a school board designated
hazardous traffic area within two miles of the
students home campus as determined by the districts
school board of trustees policy regarding students
that would be subject to hazardous traffic
conditions if walking to their designated home
campus. |

When can he/she start riding
the bus? |

As soon as he/she presents a bus
pass to the driver. Bus passes are issued at the campus. |

Can the bus pick up my Pre-K or
Kinder child in front of our home? It is not safe for my child to
walk alone and wait at bus stop. |

The
district provides curb to curb transportation service to and from
school for Special Needs students only. All other students must wait
for the bus at the designated
bus
stop. Parents,
guardians or persons identified as the child's
caretaker must accompany the student to a designated
bus stop for both AM and PM route loading/unloading.
No Kinder or Pre-K students will be dropped off if
no one is there to meet them.

My child is in the Special-ed
Program and currently rides the bus to and from school, can my other child
(regular ed) ride with him/her?....They attend the same school. |

No.
Only students recommended by the Admission, Review, Dismissal
(ARD) committee and
whose Individualized Education Program (IEP) specifies that special transportation services
will be provided are allowed to
ride a Sp Needs bus. |

Can my child be dropped off at a different location,
i.e., work place, grandparents, aunt/uncles, etc? |

To avoid confusion or the
possibility of mis-placing a student; transporting
to a different location other than the regular stop
is kept at a minimum. However, it can be done
provided the transportation department receives from
the parent/guardian a signed memo making the
request. the memo should include the duration of the
change and a contact phone number. The
transportation department will not recognize any
memo brought in by the students. |
