McAllen ISD Currently Adopted Instructional Material |
|
Given
the changes and limitations in textbook funding,
districts are challenged to make the best use of
available instructional material funds and place extra
emphasis on mitigating textbook losses.
-
One textbook per child is no longer a state
requirement.
-
Class sets should be considered.
(class sets, whereby students keep one book
in the classroom and one at home, is no longer be
allowed)
-
Consider ordering only the
quantities actually needed to help reduce the number
of textbook losses and ensure there is a sufficient
surplus centrally stored in our warehouse for future
campus needs.
-
Once enrollment numbers settle, surplus inventory
will also be collected from the campuses and stored
centrally. Campuses will be allowed to retain a
surplus of 3% over their enrollment.
►This is also the
ideal time to clean up your bookroom and remove any
expired
material.
-
For accountability purposes, all instructional
material must be inventoried,
bar-coded, and processed through
TIPWeb.
-
Digital and online content should be considered if
and when available.
-
Book Cover Requirement
Walraven
has provided our school district with
protective textbook covers as a
complimentary item made possible by
sponsors.
Students must be responsible for the
proper use and care of textbooks and will maintain book covers on
all textbooks at all times.
Note:
Campuses have the option to purchase their own book
covers.
