Listening to Podcasts
One of the easiest ways to listen to a podcast is to use the iTunes media player. If you have already have iTunes, open the music player and click on the podcast link located in the left source window (see picture).

Next, select the Podcast Directory link (bottom of page) which will direct you to the podcast area within the iTunes music store. Click on Browse -- Education -- K-12. You will then have access to over 1500 podcasts from schools across the nation. Click on the name of a podcast to listen to it or click on Get Episode to download it into your iTunes library.

Podcasts:
What Are They?

A podcast can be virtually anything recorded in an audio or video file such as: a class lecture, student presentation, foreign language lesson, a dramatic presentation, or a music recital.

Teachers can easily create a podcast of daily assignments and activities and publish it for parents and students to review on a daily or weekly basis. Students can also create and publish content for their teachers or other students.
Podcasts can be accessed from any computer connected to the internet. Once downloaded, podcasts can be transferred to portable music players (such as the iPod or iPod nano) or flash drives and be played from anywhere.
MISD is currently preparing a server computer to host podcasts created by teachers and staff. These podcasts will be available for subscription using iTunes. Teachers or staff who wish to submit a podcast for publishing, need to submit an audio recording and a completed podcast information form to the Design Center at DeLeon Middle School.
